Guess What Day It Is!
Wednesday was HUMP DAY for our mission! 🐪
January 21 marked exactly nine months since we said goodbye to friends and family and began the adventure of a lifetime. This reminded us of this famous commercial! 🤣 Some days feel long, but when we stop and reflect, it’s amazing to realize that our mission is already half over. Time truly is flying by, and we can’t wait to see what new adventures the second half of our mission will bring!
Speaking of adventures… we have BREAKING NEWS!
Due to a medical emergency involving the current office missionaries, we’ve been given a temporary change of assignment. We’ll be leaving tomorrow for Guam to serve in the mission office as mission secretary and finance manager. We’re not sure exactly how long this assignment will last—possibly three to four weeks—but we’re grateful for the opportunity to step in and help where we’re needed most.
We’ll definitely miss the beautiful people of Palau while we’re gone, and we’re looking forward to returning soon to finish out our remaining time in the Micronesia Guam Mission. When we shared this news, a friend commented, “Wow, your mission has had a lot of twists and turns!” She’s absolutely right—and we can honestly say we’ve loved every one of them.
In other Palau news, we were able to deliver a wonderful donation to Palau High School, including chairs, tables, water dispensers, a ping-pong table and paddles, pickleball equipment, and many other items. It was such a joy to be the bearers of gifts and to see how much they were appreciated.
While our daily schedule and routines will look different starting this week, one thing remains the same: we are still serving others in ways that help move the Lord’s work forward. We are deeply grateful for that opportunity.

WOW, half of your Mongolian / Guam mission is done. Hump Day right. I really do remember that commercial. Now you are indeed in the Army of the Lord. Why? Because in the Army you can take on different jobs. JD has the finance manager skills and you have the mission secretary skills to do what is needed to keep that office humming along without too much of a hitch or slow down. What a unique mission you are having. You are indeed in the Army of the Lord doing work you never imagined doing.
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed the office couple assignments and actually had time to teach with missionary discussions in the evening. You will be great !
