When Blog Material Is in Short Supply

Well, another week in the office and — you guessed it — not a lot of blog material! However, those who know me well know that if I decide to write a weekly blog, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do… whether there’s exciting material or not!

We do have one bit of exciting news: we’re back in Palau for the week to wrap up a few projects we’ve been working on here. It feels good to return and see some things through to completion.

Another senior couple, the Greenhalghs — Family History missionaries serving in Pohnpei — arrived this week and are staying with us. We’re looking forward to spending time together, and I’m sure we’ll have some fun and more eventful things to report next week!

Yesterday was our Island Conference, and President and Sister Williams were on island. We had a wonderful conference, followed by lunch with all the missionaries, which is always a highlight. That evening we went to The Taj, a delicious Indian restaurant, with the Williams and the Greenhalghs. The food and company was amazing, and of course we couldn’t pass up a good photo opportunity!





It was also great to be back among the Saints here on Palau as we attended church and their potluck luncheon after.  What great people! 


Tonight we’re holding a Family History Fair at the church. We’re hoping to spark some excitement and help people here connect with their family history in meaningful ways.

A Tender Pause on the Journey

  This week’s blog looks a little different. Instead of writing from Mongolia, we’re writing from Arizona—where we unexpectedly returned to celebrate the life of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband, Dean. His passing brought a swirl of emotions, tender memories, and sacred moments that we will carry with us forever. When we first got the call, we wrestled with the decision to come home. The cost was high. The travel was long. But something kept tugging at us—and now, having been there, we can say with certainty: we are so glad we came. The time we shared with family—hugging, remembering, crying, laughing—was a gift. A healing breath. A reminder that our families are eternal and will be together forever.  We all agreed Grandpa had impeccable timing. Eighteen Months and a Thousand Goodbyes

The day has finally arrived!  After spending the weekend with Devin and Sarah, we enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT in the morning.  We will spend a week there before flying to Tokyo for more training for a week and then on to Mongolia!  We don't have official travel plans yet as we are still waiting for our Visas, but the people in the know feel they should arrive this week and we should be ready to roll!  Goodbyes are hard!  We are so grateful for modern technology and the ability this will give us to Facetime, talk, and text with our family and friends.
