We started the week by preparing crêpes for 30 employees at the Church service center—a labor of love that kept us cooking for two hours! We always enjoy serving them, but what we treasure most are their heartfelt expressions of gratitude: “My mouth hasn’t tasted something this delicious in a long time!” These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to support the mission and the Church here in Mongolia, and it’s a joy to do something special for them.
On Monday, we also helped clean out the mission library in preparation for upcoming remodeling. There has been a great deal of construction and reorganization as plans move forward for an additional mission. The new mission office will share the same building as ours, so much effort has gone into preparing the space. It is exciting to see the continued growth of the Church in Mongolia!
Much of our time this week was also spent writing. We recently completed a story about the America Days choir—here is the link to read more. It’s always fun to be scrolling through Facebook and suddenly see one of our stories featured on the Moroni Channel!
We also wrapped up a story about Dr. Price, who has made remarkable contributions to healthcare in Mongolia. Be sure to read his inspiring story

In addition, we have been tasked with producing a monthly newsletter for the mission. Here is this month’s edition. We especially enjoyed finding ways to add a little fun to what is often a very tedious task—cleaning missionary apartments!
School is now officially out in Ulaanbaatar, and signs of summer are everywhere. One of our favorite moments this week was watching children playing in the river. One boy, while excitedly preparing to jump in, noticed us and proudly exclaimed, “I am swim!” He was thrilled to use his English—and we love how eager so many of the children here are to practice with us.
We also had the pleasure of meeting up for lunch with Buyan-Ulzii, a missionary from our very first district when we arrived. Now that Buyan-Ulzii has completed his mission and is living nearby, it was wonderful to catch up. It was especially rewarding to see how much Buyan-Ulzii’s English has improved since those early days.
Weeks like this remind us that the work here moves forward in many ways—through service, through stories, and through relationships. We feel blessed to contribute where we can and to witness the steady growth of the Church in Mongolia.
